Lipscomb Academy Middle Shool

Hey LAMS Fam!

We don't have "anything" on the schedule this week! We have a normal week! Use this time as an opportunity to dig in and refine your content standards. While planning remember to asks yourself, "How do I know every single student mastered the learning objective?"

Thank you for providing AMAZING experiences to the students of LA!

DISMISSAL
We have returned to the pre-covid dismissal process. Let Gavin and Crystal know if we need to address any issues in front of Harding (8th grade) or under the Middle school awning (6th/7th grade).

WEEKLY COMMUNITY NEWSLETTER LINK
Send community announcements to Gavin by Thursday so that he can put it in the weekly newsletter to parents.

FROM THE DESK OF DREW MCCONNELL
Have you ever wanted to learn how to use the tools in iWonder? Now is your chance! In addition to Canva, we have created more Level Up resources to help you learn 3D printing and laser cutting. You'll learn how to design everything from a 3D printed phone holder to your own name tag (I know you've always wanted one of those super cool wood-burned iWonder name tags). Complete the levels at your own pace, learn new skills, and earn PD hours!

Let Drew, Kristi, or Donna know if you're interested and we'll add you to the Level Up Schoology course.

KEEPING YOU IN THE LOOP

Your Team Leader should have discussed the revised Anticipated Absence Form. Please ask them about it.

"How To Work Literacy Content Into all Instructional Areas"

SHOUT OUT TO TEACHERS for PARENT COMMUNICATION!πŸ™Œ

THANK YOU to everyone for elevating their parent communication all around!

1.Try to work with the child first (model appropriate communication)

2. If you email a parent and a situation has not been resolved, schedule a face to face meeting. Tone and intent can be misunderstood if we only use email.

3. NOTHING beats a face to face "real time" exchange of thoughts and ideas.

KEEP UP THE FANTASTIC WORK!
